#Syrian Revolution : #SOSHoms again and again “+18 Graphic”

It seems that what Obeida El Nahas said that there will be a military operation against the Homs will continue for days is true as since early morning , the city of Homs is witnessing another bombardment. From the beginning there is an extreme graphic material in this graphic.
The Baba Amr area now is being under mortar attack for hours now. There has been live stream from the city but it seems that it was cut again anyhow there are videos allegedly shot this morning from the city while it is being shelled.
Homs : Baba Amr buildings shelled this morning
Homs : Baba Amr shelled on Monday’s morning
Homs : A mortar attack on Baba Amr
The activists in Syria said from two hours ago that at least 10 were reportedly killed so far. Of course this death is expected to increase rapidly. There are tens of injured already in the doomed area.
Homs : Baba Amr injured
This video report below allegedly taking today's morning "despite it was uploaded on February 5th!!" and it shows one of the field hospitals in Homs.

According to the residents of Homs one of the mortars hit a main oil pipeline feeding the main refinery in the city. Telecommunications are reportedly cut in the city of Talbisah in Homs as well.
There is another operation in the Zabadani area as well. Activists and bloggers from Syria report that there are huge clashes in Daraa between the Syrian Arab army and the Syrian free army. The communications are reportedly cut.
The SNC is trying to save the situation by having calls with the Arab states and LAS in order to have an urgent summit and to activate the economic sanctions. The SNC is calling the Syrians everywhere to protest in front every Syrian embassy in the globe.
The LAS secretary general Nabil El Araby is holding a meeting with US ambassador in Cair Ann Peterson where they will discuss the Syrian revolution issue.
The Syrian TV blames the terrorists , Salafists and foreign mercenaries as usual claiming that the mercenaries are having a fight with the Salafists
Yesterday a terrible footage emerge from Baba Amr area in Homs showing a young boy with a destroyed jaw shocked thousands of internet users in the Arab world. “Warning :Extreme graphic footage”
Homs : A child with destroyed jaw in Baba Amr
Late Hamza
I do not know if that boy will make it or not or has made it or not. Updated: The boy did not make and passed away today. May Allah bless his soul . His name was Hamza
Believe it or not it was not the first time I have seen this horrible scene , I saw it before several months ago in one of the videos emerging from Daraa , I remember it very good. The scene of a man with no jaw bleeding or rather dying after he was shot in his way out of the Friday prayer.
Also Yesterday Youm 7 has published an interesting news today “A member of Syrian National transitional council has met with Hossam Badrawy”. Simply a member of the SNC called Jaber El Shofi met with Hossam Badrawy to get support from Egyptian political powers for the new council and the Syrian revolution. The news goes on and says that Badrawy shared with El Shofi the experience of the Egyptian revolution !!!
Yes Badrawy , the former NDPian leader is giving lessons and advices to the Syrians about the Egyptian revolution of #Jan25 !!
I know that Badrawy was being treated or claimed to be treated like the black sheep in the NDP yet he is still considered a NDP remnant and I do not see any use of that meeting.
On another hand the Syrian protesters arrested after the storming of the Syrian embassy in Garden city were released after paying a LE 2000 bail. “It seems that the Syrian embassy got two buildings , one in Dokki and the other in Garden city”. I have heard that the UNCHR has interfered and this is a big chance that they will not be deported.
Now here is a photo for the Palestinian resistance icon Raed Salah wearing the Syrian flag of independence as a scarf ,  I dedicate this photo to Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah who knows very well who Sheikh Raed Salah is.

#Feb11 General Strike in Universities "Updated"

A number of universities or rather students unions in several universities across the country have announced that they are going on a general strike starting from next February 11st , 2012  till SCAF hands over powers to civilians as an escalation of protesting.
The murder of several university students during the Port Said stadium clashes created a great anger among these students as many of the victims especially the martyrs are students in these universities and schools.

The students and instructors in the following universities and faculties are participating in the strike :
Now most of these students unions are demanding the following aside from handing over power to civilians :
  • A national unity revolutionary government
  • Restoring the rights of the martyrs and the injured.
The students union of Jesuit school in Cairo has announced that they are going participate in the strike , I think already they are having their mid term vacation now. Several of the famous Jesuit school graduates have been killed and injured in the revolution and what followed it from clashes in Tahrir square in 2011 till the latest clashes in Port Said Stadium.
GUC student and Jesuit school graduate Karim Khozam "may Allah bless his soul" was the last one to join the long list of martyrs the school profiled. The Jesuit school students and graduates had tent in the big sit ins in Tahrir square during 2011.
The Jesuit school is not the only school participating in the strike because  Lycee El Haram students union has announced that it is going to on strike starting from February 11,2012.
Lycee Bab El Louq school which is at the crossfire now in the battle of the MOI has got a students union that announced it will be on a strike till the military goes back to the barracks
Whether you are with the move or against it , I do not recall something happening like that in the Egyptian universities before.
Despite the significance of the date "February 11,2011" that marks the stepping down of Mubarak and his departure from Cairo , Saturday is a holiday for most Egyptians.
According to several activists this move prepares the public for the civil disobedience many believe  "especially socialists" will bring down the military rule in Egypt. Needless to say the civil disobedience or even a general strike will need huge mobilization as well huge support and acceptance from the public , I do not know if we can get in a week period.
The strikes in labor sectors from time to time in several factories as in several companies are not enough indicator about the success of the idea in Egypt to me considering how the public rejects these strikes thanks to the media.
Still strikes and civil disobedience are from the most powerful weapons of peaceful revolution if they are wisely and perfectly use , I want them to be used perfectly in Egypt because I fear their failure will cost the revolution and the revolutionaries a lot.
The strike in 1919 revolution was among the successful weapons we used against the British , the question now if we use it in 2012 , will help our revolution as its supporters believe  !?

And there are no gunshots after all !!

The minister of interior Mohamed Ibrahim claimed yesterday in a press conference at his ministry that the CSF and security forces are only using tear gas against the protesters at the ministry of interior and nearby streets.

Ibrahim denied that the security forces were not using gunshots or birdshots despite the evidence mounted in the past days. Today some members of the Egyptian parliament claimed that the ministry of interior did not use gunshots against the protesters based on the statements of the minister of interior who spoke to the

Anyhow here is an evidence in the body of the human rights activist Salma Said who got over 100 birdshots pellets from head to toe in her body !! “Photos by Nazly Hussein and Mosireen Campaign

Salma was filming the clashes when she was shot 3 times , 2 times after she was hit already !!!

Salma Said's Shotgun Wounds

Salma Said's Shotgun Wounds

What about the correspondents of Nile News and Cairo today who got birdshots in their eyes !? What about the young man who passed away last night from two bird shots one in his neck and one in his chest !?

Of course now there is a rumor among the protesters that the ministry of interior is using unofficial birdshot ammunition it bought from arms shops so in any investigation it will be hard to prove that it is the MOI or the central security ammunition !!! It is clever thinking if the MOI began to think in this way. It is worth to mention that as the clashes have started minister Ibrahim requested the general prosecutor  to investigate the clashes at the scene since day one.

I do not want to comment on what happened at the parliament today from disgusting performance which I am not surprised from after further thinking considering the fact those who spoke today in the parliament against the protesters were and are loyal to the ministry of interior. “Whether Bakry or all those so-called Islamist members”

But I will comment on the minister of interior’s statements about how he is totally against harming protesters !! 11 Protesters have been killed so far in the clashes at the ministry since last Friday and over 30 protesters have lost one of their eyes. 3 Protesters have lost both eyes.

Whether you agree or disagree with the protesters at the MOI now , it is unacceptable that people treated like that , it is unfair that young men lose their eyes like that. I did not find a use from these protests at the MOI and I was and am totally against them but I am against the attack on the protesters like that.

There have been attempts by several political figures and members of parliament from the Pro-revolutionary members of parliament to find a true and to calm things down but they have failed so far because the security forces always broke down the truce and even attacked the delegations that tried to create human shield between the protesters and the security forces.

I am waiting for the minister of interior reaction when he sees the photos of Salma Said , in fact I wonder if the police general considers Said a real original revolutionary or not.

By the way now there are clashes not between the protesters and the security forces but rather with thugs , locals and the protesters. Two protesters have reportedly killed so far including a young man who was allegedly thrown from the taxation building by thugs !!!!!!!!!!!!

EU Small arms sale to Egypt in 2011

$

I found this infograph at one of the Egyptian military Facebook page "Oh yes we began to have tons of this pages and most of them are pro-Egyptian army , we did not used to have them till 2011".
This infograph is about the EU small arms sale to Egypt in 201. These are huge loads of money we spent on arms from January to September 2011. I wonder how the economy was suffering then !?

Click it to read it carefully
France , Germany and Cyprus are on the top of list. France sold to Egypt parts of the ammunitions and parts of arms which in other words mainly to government , arms factories and arms calibars importers. Germany, Cyprus and Italy are among the main exporters of gunshots to Egypt and without doubt the ministry of interior is main importer in Egypt.

We do not know how much we spent in arms we bought from UK or Austria or even type of arms because of confidentiality, I am surprised already of Austria's name in the report in the first place.

Poland deals with the army of course since the 1950s when it comes to military weapons part , we have not got rid from Eastern weaponary and actually strategically speaking when it comes to army , I support the diversification of arms sources aside from local production.

I wonder if the national security committee in the parliament will take this report and investigate it.

It is worth to mention that there is an increase on demand for the small guns among Egyptians especially the wealthy Egyptians who want more protection with the lack of security and can afford buying German guns with its expensive license or even without license in most cases.

In October 2011 I found that the MOI announced the terms and conditions for licensing a gun and strangely I do not feel that they are tough like in the past despite of course you have to be trained and qualified enough in some training center as well to give a good reason for owning a gun other than "I want to defend myself". Interestingly enough then licensing fees are not that expensive. These are the new terms and conditions after the revolution.

Here is also the Egyptian arms and ammunition law that some human rights organizations believe it is unfair , well I do not Egypt to be like the States when it comes to carrying guns because one look to Upper Egypt and the arms problem there tells you need even strong implementation for the law.

You need that license before you buy a gun from legal arms store and to carry it legally.

Before the revolution the price of the gun , the real gun you can buy from arms store like Fathallah can range from LE 3000 to LE 30,000. Now after the revolution with the booming black market supplied from Libya and the lack of secuirty ,prices have dropped as well you can get now a variety of choices from birdshots to automatic guns to AK-47
Believe or not I know someone sells on Facebook electric shock and teasers for people and despite it is a dangerous and illegal it seems that it is a booming business especially in the Women's shopping Facebook pages !!!
I just wonder why nobody made a report in the Egyptian media , a real report about the official trade of arms in Egypt in this year , I will not say the unofficial trade because we know that the unofficial arms trade has hit the ceiling in 2011
Here is another website with outdated numbers of guns' figures in Egypt , I found it interesting. We need more updated numbers.

I apologize sincerely and honestly and ...you name it for not posting anything on the blog for days now. I have just returned from an amazing small tour in Luxor and Aswan where I had spent 4 days in the amazing Nile with poor Internet access "to be honest I tried to avoid any contact with politics from near or far in these days". The good news is that I got my Aswan and Luxor chronicles with loads and loads of photos and videos "Coming soon insh Allah"

Now after returning to Cairo , I found out that my internet router "TE Data" is completely dead with no power access which means I have to visit the nearest "TE Data" branch to see what the problem is with my router that is still in the warranty !!!

There are lots of things now I want to speak about but I am stuck as you can see so please forgive me and wait for more chronicles insh Allah.

#Studentstrike : At Cairo university "2nd day"

So I went today to Cairo university "CU" my university today to see what is going there in the strike and amazingly I expected my university is less revolutionary than the Ain Shams university despite its share in the revolution Martyrs and the anti-SCAF graffiti all over its old building anti- SCAF , Ultras and April 6 youth movement graffiti".
Somehow the university seemed to be normal to me when I went , may be things more intense after I had left or it had bee more intense before I went as I expected the university to be less crowded thanks to the image in my mind but I should have known better when it comes to the big number of students in CU .
Cairo university graffiti
Officially this is the second day in the strike as well the second day after the end of the mid term vacation.
The faculty of economy and political sciences " FEPS" is the only faculty in the CU that officially goes on strike for two days in solidarity with the students according to a statement issued by its head on Saturday. The complete staff is joining the students in their strike from what I understood unlike in other faculties in the university. The professors in the FEPS joined the students and a group of them held a lecture this morning to discuss the difference between the strike and civil disobedience to the students. The FEPS students held today a funeral prayer dedicated to the Martyrs as well a protesting stand in their faculty before heading in a march to the CU dome hall chanting anti military rule slogans.

The English section staff in the faculty of Arts decided to  suspend study for 3 days in solidarity with the decision of the elected student union in the section to go on strike according to Dr. Hala Khalil.
The people's faculty aka the faculty of commerce" the biggest number of students enrolled in a faculty in CU is in CU Arabic section" had its share from the protesting activity despite some of its students I met today seemed to be indifferent to the strike telling me that there were no strikes and that they had two lectures before afternoon already.
The head of the faculty has decided to name the halls of the faculty after the faculty's martyrs in the revolution including those who were killed in the Port Said stadium massacre. " The faculty lost two of its students in this sad massacre"
Faculty of commerce martyrs
I met students in the university who told me that they were not on strike , the lectures are in their time and there is no strike in Cairo university just bunch of marches and protests from time to time.According to some students as well one of the professors I met yesterday Cairo university yesterday the university witnessed more protesting activities compared to today.
Some also told me that some students feared to come because of that media campaign against strike.
There was another protesting march against SCAF  that roamed the university I knew about from twitter , I wish I had seen it.
Today the 9th of March movement for universities Independence held a silent stand at the staircase of the CU    Dome hall for an hour. Among the participants in the stand were Dr. Mostafa Abdel Galil, Dr.Amina Rashid,Dr.Hala Kamel and Dr.Laila Souief.
And after meeting and speaking with Mona and Alaa Seif , I had a chance to meet with their fantastic mother Dr. Laila Souief , the renowned activist , science professor and one of the founder of the famous 9th of March movement for universities independence. I ask Dr. Souief about the level of participation in the strike among the students and she answered me in a realistic way.
"I can't generalize my judgement on the rest of the university but in my faculty , the faculty of Sciences there is no study in the first week after the midterm vacation.Students only register for their second semester courses this week thus their attendance is weak normally"
Dr.Laila debating
I think who ever planned for this strike , he should not have chosen this date of February 11th and that week right after the midterm vacation , it would have been better to wait for the second week so the university students attendance would be organized thus we would know better if the students are on strike or not.
This was CU as I have seen it today.

I'm Spanish, my children are Spanish, my grandchildren are Spanish. We here long, have become friends, have done business. And the accusations coming from Egypt are politically motivated
Salem ,the sick old man "EPE"
That was what Hussein Salem had said from two days ago at the criminal division of the national court in Madrid , Spain
Salem who will be extradited to Cairo claimed in front of the court that he only used that the Egyptian passport when he travels to Mecca.
I have one thing to say to Salem and his family : Egypt does not need you and the Egyptian passport should not be carried by someone like you at all. Already if it were not for Egypt and its fortunes you enjoyed and abused since the 1960s , you would not be able to travel to Spain in the first place !!
The Spanish passport should not be carried by someone like Hussein Salem and his family as well.
I do not know already if Salem is following his old friend Mubarak's steps and pretending to be an old sick man to win a sympathy in the court or what !!
The accusations of Salem are not politically motivated but rather justly motivated. In fact Salem should be very thankful because he is being accused of very light charges when it comes to his corruption.
Here are clips showing Salem and his family in Spanish court.
CBC : Hussien Salem and family in Spanish court
By the way from very reliable source : Do not believe the interviews of Hussein Salem in Rosa Al Youssef , they are  fabricated.

The agony of Port Said

$

We are cursed city since the time of Mubarak , we thought that our luck will change after the revolution but it doesn't seem so
A man from Port Said told me that in Aswan from couple of days ago when he spoke on how Port Said has paid a huge price after the Port Said massacre from two weeks ago.

Port Said in 1956
After standing defiant against the attack of two countries in 1956 and paying a huge price the cities of Suez and Ismailia would pay later after a decade , the once cosmopolitan city emerged after the Suez crisis in Egypt as the brave city in time of Nasser. It was sad enough that we have forgotten the 5th of November anniversary in 2011.
The city was flourished economically in time of Sadat when it became a free zone area , Port Said had it all till time of Mubarak. Despite famous financiers of NDP were from Port Said's big businessmen tycoons yet the city was losing more and more of its glory in time of Mubarak after having all the capabilities of becoming a next Dubai or rather the original Dubai.
Mubarak decided to cancel the Free Zone area in Port Said last decade , at first the Port Said people though it has to do with the so-called assassination attempt of Mubarak "The man actually didn't want to kill him , he only wanted to give him a message but Mubarak's bodyguards shot him down and needed a justification in front the world" but it has to do with Gamal Mubarak and friends' little project in East Port Said port.
After the revolution the people of Port Said had high hopes that the Free zone will return once again and the trade will flourish with all the hopes we has after the revolution but what you know after one year of ousting Mubarak, Egypt made world history once again unfortunately in the sad way this time : The Port Said stadium massacre or the worst clashes in history of football.

Over 70 young men from football fan killed in a football game between Ahly SC and Al Masry SC as you have all known. The massacre shocked Egypt especially millions of football fans. The revolutionary protesting and political class considered it a war against Ultras Ahlaway for it role in the revolution and started another battle against SCAF , Police and government where everybody lost as you have known.
What you have not known , Port Said Was being shun and punished.

" What is the capital of Israel ? Port Said "
A graffiti on a school Wall in Aswan city
I have read that graffiti from two days ago representing the tip of an iceberg I could not believe it was in front of me thanks on how the protesting anti-SCAF class can not see what is happening on the ground.
The people of Port Said live a normal life inside the governorate but outside it is abnormal when it comes to the city.
The micro-buses and buses from Cairo to port Said stopped going there and the people of Port Said prefer now to take cars with license plates from other governorates Other than Port Said. " I met a family from Port Said that came to Cairo in a car with an Alexandria license plate for fear of being attacked in Cairo".
The food suppliers stopped also to supply the city with food, the Rod El Farag vegetables and fruits market traders in Cairo are said to stop supplying the city with vegetables and fruits. Other Nile Delta governorates reportedly refusing to supply the city with food !!!The army has decided to send an immediate food supply convey to the city as if it were living under siege under the invasion of UK and France !!
’Mohamed Shawky, the famous Ahly footballer of Port Saidi origin was reportedly kicked out of the memorial service held at Ahly club because of his Port Said roots !!
People do not go anymore to buy goods from the free zone anymore , I do not know if People outside Port Said are actually boycotting it or they are afraid or to go. I do not know really.  It is turning ridiculous.
The famous faces and icons from Port Said like Sakina Fouad , Hero Mahran and MP Badry Farghaly are asking people in the media not to treat the people of Port Said and its people like that.
Port Said lost already over 30 young men in this massacre yet no one wants to pay attention to this , the hospitals of Port Said did great job in trying to save the injured like in time of wars and no one wants pay attention to this.
If it were not for the people of Port Said people we would not have not known on the true involvement of the police and ministry of interior in this massacre as they know the history of the police generals in the city yet people do not pay attention.
Aside from the protesting class anger in Cairo and some cities "mainly Cairo and Suez" that resulted in the death of not less than 15 and the injury of 100s in a pointless battle , we can not ignore the masses of people in Egypt from the football junkies who are drugged and enraged by the sports TV shows for years. Let's remember the battle of Algiers in Sudan as an example.
The culture of football is more dangerous than you can think in Egypt.
I think the people of Port Said should demand the government to demolish the Port Said stadium and to reconstruct a new stadium named "The martyrs stadium". Al Masry club should be punished according to international football rules and regulations and gets a degrade in the league.
The question is : If that massacre happened in Ahly and Zamalek match between their legendary Ultras groups , would Cairo or rather Egypt be dragged to a civil war ? Again we are All responsible whether you like or not , responsible as citizens of this nation.
I do not understand why our activists are not standing with the people of Port Said.

He did not lie !!

Dempsey and Tantawy
Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey reportedly asked the head of SCAF and minister of defense Hussein Tantawy about the future of Egypt during his visit to Cairo from couple of days ago.
Field Marshal Tantawy allegedly answered him with few words
I do not know.
I do not know if that is true or not but I agree with that answer , things are too unclear in Egypt to level that even SCAF does not know what is going to happen in the future or even next week. Uncertainty is the word in Cairo.
Now regarding that crisis between SCAF and the American administration regarding crisis , well history taught me one thing : There is always something in the background we will not know about except after sometime.
The only thing I know for sure is that the US administration does not really care for democracy or human rights as much it cares about keeping the Egyptian army neutralized in the region and the Egyptian regime an ally.

#UA07march : For the martyrs rights

$

Today the Ultras Ahlawy “UA07” movement is having a march  from the Ahly Club to the office of the public prosecutor office to demand the rights of their martyrs in the terrible Port Said massacre.
Today is the two weeks anniversary of that horrible massacre that shocked the whole nation.
The UA07 has issued earlier this morning a set of instructions to their followers regarding today’s march on its official Facebook page.
  1. The march will be peaceful.
  2. No political or partisan slogans whether chants or banners are allowed.
  3. All the UA07 should come in time wearing the T-shirts of the UA07.
  4. All the members of UA07 participating in the march should follow the instructions and orders of the UA07 leaders .
It is worth to mention that some of the revolutionary protesting class activists do not like these instructions which strip the march from any political nature.
Ultras Ahlaway and Ultras Devils “The two main Ultras groups of Ahly SC” already issued a statement with the demands of that march. The demands are as followed :
  • To hold the ministry of interior and its officials “The minister of interior , the head of Port Said Security directorate and the head of the CSF” sector responsible for all the security of the football game as well the governor of Port Said and the manager of Port Said stadium.
  • To purge the ministry of interior and restructure it completely.
  • To stop the talk about third party and infiltrators because those who committed these crimes are some of the Al Masry club fans whom they demand the security forces to arrest and punish quickly otherwise they “Ultras Ahlaway” will be put in position to take back their rights by their own hand.

As you can see and as I told you the Ultras Ahlaway hold some of the Al Masry fans responsible for the massacre aside from the police.
From their side the Ultras Green Eagles “Al Masry SC fans” fired back at the accusations of the Ultras Ahlaway accusing them of starting this bloody war from years ago !!! The comments in that note are more than disgusting. If I translate some of these comments , you will know what I meant in that post about the agony of Port Said !!
Anyhow back to the march , well there are at least Ultras members and fans currently at Ahly club along with protesters from different political powers including the famous Salafyo Costa.
At Ahly Club entrance in Zamalek by Ziyad

This photo was taken between Cairo Opera house and Ahly Club. I do not know who took from couple of hours ago. It says that 194 fans have stopped to support their club. The Ahly fans believe that 194 fans have been killed in the Port Said clashes while the official numbers say that they are only 74 martyrs.
The march was big , it started with 2,000 after 4 PM then grew in number in to 10,000 who blocked the October 6th bridge for nearly 30 minutes then to 20,000 protesters at the general prosecutor office.

Here is a live stream for the protest.
The protesters are chanting against the police and Port Said “Unfortunately” demanding justice the martyrs. Despite there is no political slogans rule from time to time you find some chanting “Down with military” rule
Strangely no TV channels transferred the rally on air so far. The rally was highly organized despite the big numbers , there were human shields surrounding the march to protect it.
MP Mohamed Abu Hamed of Free Egyptians, director Khaled Blogger Alaa Abdel Fatah, Potential presidential candidate Bothaina Kamel are participating in the rally.

Blogger and human rights activist Razan El Ghazzawi aka Red Razan has been arrested yet again by Syrian regime authorities from short awhile ago along with 12 human rights activists working the one of the Freedom of expression human rights center.
Among the names of the rest of the human rights activists : Mazan Darwish and his wife Yara Badr , Mohi El Din Eisso.
This is the second time El Ghazzawi is being arrested in Syria. The Syrian American activist was arrested for several days last year.
Here is the last tweet by Razan from 3 days ago in Damascus.
Nadine Ghazzawi ,her sister is on twitter , you can follow her for more updates.
Now according the Local coordination committees in Syria 40 Syrians have been killed so far in Syria. The City of Bloudan was shelled today by El Assad’s Syrian Arab army because its people reportedly opened their houses to refugees from Zabadani and Madaya in Reef Dimshaq.
On the other hand Bambuser has reported that it was blocked in Syria as users there can’t got access or use the video live streaming app through 3G anymore in the country.
Bambuser is from the famous apps used in Syria if we speak about the popularity of Social media apps. It was not used in Egypt in those 18 days like in Syria because simply there is a media blackout. TV channels like Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya news channels use Bambuser to get live broadcast from different Syrian villages and towns
Al Arabiya channel reported today in its twitter account that it is being jammed all day long.
And the UN general Secretary warns of possible crimes against humanity in Syria !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Possible !!! It is not possible anymore ya Pasha !!!!!!!!!!!!
According to the human rights activists in Syria 8,314 Syrians have been killed so far including 537 child and 468 woman not to mention 418 killed under torture !!! All this and we are speaking about possible crimes !!!!!!!
Over 35,000 are reportedly injured and over 65,000 are missing and we are speaking about possible crimes against Humanity !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And this is just the beginning. More updates to come.

Leave Anas’ Father alone

Anas Mohi El-Din is the youngest martyr killed in the Port Said stadium massacre , his beautiful face and shabby smile broke the hearts of millions in Egypt especially after knowing how he was killed. He is the last martyr to be featured in graffiti painting all over Cairo and Giza.
His father Mohi El Din Abdel Rahman had appeared on TV last week , in a sports TV show on Dream TV channel where he slammed April 6th Youth movement accusing them of using his son’s murder for their political agenda.
The grieving father accused the movement of using his son’s memorial service to distribute political pamphlets. “I do not know if this is true or not but if it were true and I were Anas’ father or mother , I would be extreme furious
The man who called the movement “6th Iblis aka 6th Satan” like their opponents wondering about their funding. The angry man even wondered why no one from April 6th Youth movement has been killed in any of the previous clashes in Egypt. Of course the grieving man does not that there were  young men from the movement , from both fronts who were killed  in the past year.
Late Anas with his beautiful smile
The statements of Anas’ dad were shocking to the revolutionary class in Egypt and victory to the Pro-Mubarak supporters as well the Pro-SCAF class. It was a matter of time that “Ana Asaf Ya Rayes” infamous Pro-Mubarak FB page has published the video and it was shared . There is no doubt many people will believe a grieving father more quickly than 100 statements from SCAF.
From its side the April 6th Youth Movement “Ahmed Maher’s movement” fired back at Anas’father  in a sad blaming statement it issued on its official website asking God to forgive him assuring that they understand what he has been through. “I highly doubt that any of the activists know what Mr. Mohi El-Din and his wife have been through except the usual big slogans of so-called anger and retribution”
Now what shocked me are not the statements of Mr. Mohi El Din or the statements of April 6th Youth movement but what shocked me how the man was attacked , slammed and insulted on twitter by young tweeps who do not want to consider what he is currently feeling.
I got extreme angry tweets on that day from people who are attacking Anas’ father.
Anas was a great kid but his dad is son of bit*h
Anas’ dad seems to be a big Mubarak regime remnant, the guy is using his son’s death to attack the revolution !!
Just look to the comments at Badil.Net website
You are using your son’s death !!
Tantawy paid this man to say this !!
I can’t believe or understand that some people dare to think that they love or care for Anas more than his father does !!! I can’t believe how that stupid prejudice makes us blind on seeing the most essential life facts. Not all the people in Egypt support the revolution and most of them are non-politicized for God sake.
Psychological speaking this man can be in a denial status now for what happened in his son, it will take some time till he calms down. Yes he seems to disrespect April 6th Youth movement , well guess what not all Egyptians support them and I believe that does not make them less Egyptian or bad Egyptian regardless of the media role here.
Prejudice and arrogance that make some tweeps who have never seen or known Anas as a human think for one moment as humans and not as revolutionaries. Mohi El Din Abdel Rahman was the man who held Anas as a baby moments after his birth and he was the same man that did not know that his son had gone to Port Said to attend a football match except when he was informed that his son was killed there and he should recognize his body at the morgue !!!!
I do not care if he like April 6th Youth movement or not , I do not care what he thinks now because I know there is a fire inside nobody can feel it except him and Anas’ poor mother. All what I asking is a little consideration because to be honest I am tired of alienating people ,I am tired of the inconsideration that we are dealing with a population of 85 million Egyptians. We are taking for granted that 85 million Egyptians are with us while in this particular stage not all of them are.
If Mohi El Din Abdel Rahman came out in the media and slammed SCAF , he would be the darling of that group of radical revolutionary. This is a side fact I have to highlight.
In the end after a year or even less , Anas Mohi El-Din will be forgotten by all the people except his family and his father , he will be just a graffiti and a name used to remind the people by Port Said massacre only but not as a human.
I do not care if Mr. Mohi El Din is with the revolution or against , whether he is a Mubarak supporter or loves SCAF, I do not care because I know that he will remember Anas forever more than on these tweeps and commentators.

Aswan Chronicles : Day one “Part One”

As you know last week I went on a small trip to the amazing Luxor and Aswan , it was a good attempt to escape away from all that jazz in Cairo for couple of days. Of course I could not keep myself from writing My Aswan and Luxor Chronicles.
As I said before , I got tons and tons of photos and videos and I am starting from tonight uploading them online online along with posts or rather remarks from my Aswan and Luxor Chronicles.

Day one “February 8th,2012” :

A visit to Aswan High Dam
I do not understand why or how the security authorities restrict and ban the video cameras in the high Dam when the tiniest point and shot camera and the cheapest Chinese camera phone can record video !!! Already the areas of the dam opened to visitors " the above section" are well known to everybody and there is something called Spy satellite that has been used by ages in the world.

The high dam is great huge project despite all its flaws that can be solved in a way or another. "the mud problem" When you stand there please as you remember late president Nasser , remember the martyrs of the dam project who died while they were building it.
Aswan : The High Dam

Do you know that there are water reservoirs under ground used if the water increases more than the limits and the powers of the high dam including the old river reservoir and the Toshka reservoir ?? "According to what I understand from our guide in the tour"

Lake Nasser is too damn big to level that we can share part in it whether Nubians or businessmen or even crazy blue jinns for God sake. There are thousands of crocodiles and hypos in it according to our guide. I know about about crocs in it but not hypos. Our guide told us also that after 500 years there will be no water the lake as a result of the increasing level of the Nile mud in it insh Allah.

The South of valley university needs more transportation facility for the students as it is outside the city of Aswan itself.

Mohamed Salim Al Awa , the Islamist presidential candidate considered by many to a pro-SCAF presidential candidate is going to have a lecture in Aswan tonight. “He went already

The army or rather the Southern zone is protecting vital buildings in the city and I am not speaking here about army bases or military zones but I am speaking about Aswan lower dam or even water station. The soldiers are protecting these places with tanks , yes the tanks we have not seen them for a while and they look a little bit different than in  Cairo. In fact even the soldiers and officers seemed to not be that pampered like in Cairo starting with their old fashion tents.

The city of Aswan is more than amazing , very beautiful and clean city.

The location of the presidential rest house is more than great , no wonder Sadat loved to spend some time there. In 1974 the negotiations between Sadat and Kissinger in Aswan reached to the disengagement agreement in the Yom Kippur war.

The protesters during #jan25 revolution wanted it to set it on fire but thank Goodness they did not according to our tour guide.

The Ultras attacks on Port Said graffiti are there in Aswan as well the calls of February 11th strike and anti SCAF graffiti that carries the signature of ACAB

The Nour party and the Freedom and Justice party flyers , Posters are everywhere.

#Libya One year later : It is the beginning of long road

From a year ago the Libyan people began to revolt against the oldest and the craziest dictator in the Arab world crazy Qaddafi not only to restore their freedom but to restore their dignity as well. No country in the Arab world has paid a heavy price for getting rid its dictator like Libya , of course Syria is on its way still after one year it has reached the Libyan status !!!
The Libyans have to be happy and celebrate after one year of months of agony. Andy Carvin went to Benghazi and took these photos showing the Libyans celebrating in the street with their revolution. “Follow Andy on twitter
Andy Carvin : Libya 2012
Now after one year Libya is promised with even more  challenges than forever , who said that getting from a dictator means the ends of Libya’s problems.Libya is the new Gulf State of Africa , tons of oil , money and small population in a new middle East forming rights in front of us.
Our dear Libyans are now facing several tests , the most important test of them is the unity of Libyan nation when you have officially now armed militias in tribal society.
The Libyans need one strong army and the disarming of all the militias in the country. Of course the West did not waste anytime in reportedly destroying whatever rocket arsenal the Libyans have got from the Qaddafi era. Of course the militias “With Islamist background” in Libya teach us on how the West can put the past behind its back when it wants to reach to to something.
Conservatism or rather radicalism is another challenge facing the Libyans whom I know had enough from Qaddafi’s social theories but Libyan women have their right to build their country.
The the economic test is another challenge with all companies and countries are dying to get a piece of the new cake.
Of course speaking about Libya I can’t ignore what happened in Benghazi from two week ago when the authorities there destroyed the statue of late President Nasser of Egypt.
Benghazi : Bringing the statue of Gamal Abdel Nasser
Now I do understand that the Libyans are angry and trying to get rid from all the traces of Qaddafi in their country , I do understand that they will not forget easily how Nasser supported that crazy young dictator and his coup and how Qaddafi considered himself the real heir of Nasser legacy but I am so concerned about this move.
I do not defend Nasser as his loyal followers are already doing their job and cursing the agents of NATO and the West in Benghazi !!
Destroying the remains of the statue "Reuters"
The cartoon of Qaddafi over the statue
That statue was place in a street called Abdel Nasser , now the street's name is changed to Abdel Fatah Younis, the late commander assassinated last year.
It is worth to mention that the I noticed some Libyans on YouTube and Facebook are using the word “Idol” to describe the statue , “Idol” word is usually used by religious conservatives in Egypt to describe the statues.
I am concerned like many Egyptians about the significance of this move and its impact on the Egyptian Libyan relations especially that I began to notice some anti-Egyptian sentiments on the comments of the Facebook. Already I am wondering if the militias will attack the Italian companies in the country with their old relations with Qaddafi.
Anyhow I really wish Libya all the success in its revolution sincerely because aside from all the Arab/Islamic brotherhood feelings , Libya is part of Egypt’s national security. We all must understand this and we all must in Cairo act accordingly.

“ I was planning to post this as part of my coverage #Jan25 first anniversary but I had to postponed for some reasons above them is that I am lazy !!Anyhow I hope that you complete reading the post till the end because I have updated today”
#Jan25 has been so inspirational for young generations in Egypt especially when it comes to Arts whether it is music or poetry or literature graffiti art or just paintings , it is like a new horizon opened after years of poor inspiration.
I was stopped in last January 25th revolution anniversary in Tahrir square with these two Tahrir square exhibitions :
The one at the Egyptian museum which was set up by the Youth of the Egyptian museum. It presented murals showing the martyrs as well expressive drawings
DSC01683
and the one at the KFC Tahrir branch. The KFC art exhibition was more revolutionary honoring the martyrs and attacking the security forces , SCAF as well the media with its paintings that were made by arts students.

Here is a small set of photos from there

#Jan25: The KFC Arts exhibition
I do not need to speak about Graffiti after the revolution in Egypt.

Updated :

It is worth to mention that in the past week a center has been inaugurated in Cairo specialized for teaching Graffiti art. This little project is called “7etan or Hetan aka Walls” , it is like a graffiti house for all the young Revolution artists. It is idea of follow blogger Sandmonkey aka Mahmoud Salem and graffiti artist Mohamed El Moshir. It is in Downtown @ 17 Gawad Hosni street.
Here are the #7etan boys and girls cleaning the place for their own school by @Mo_Rina

Of course personally sometimes I feel we should have less repeated political graffiti and more beautiful murals about Egypt and Egyptians from time to time. Already during my visit to Luxor and Aswan , I love these colored murals on the houses whether the Nubian murals or the Upper Egyptian murals commemorating the Pilgrimage.
I do not like the use of foreign symbols in graffiti paintings in Egypt because simply the public will not understand these symbols and they will not catch their attention unlike the Egyptian symbols or icons , I loved that late Hend Rostam’s graffiti about Mubarak in Sharm Sheikh.

#Syrian Revolution : Egypt recalls the ambassador in Damascus

According to ambassador Amr Rushdie , the official spokesperson says that this decision is for the sake of the Syrian people adding that Egypt did not take this decision before because of
Ambassador Rushdie hopes that this will not affect the Egyptian labor in Syria.
It is worth to mention that the People’s assembly is going to discuss today the decision to expel the Syrian ambassador from Cairo. The speaker of people’s assembly has slammed the Syrian regime and said that many MPs presented requests to expel the ambassador and to cut the relations with the El Assad regime because of its massacres against the civilians.
The People’s assembly has cut its relations with the Syrian parliament. The People’s assembly will allow the Arabic relations committee to present its report about Syrian and its recommendations regarding the Syrian revolution.
MP Mamdouh Ismail says that he was being told by the FM’s aide last Friday that the ministry of foreign affairs want the support of the people’s assembly to kick the Syrian ambassador !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! “Since when !?”
It is worth to mention that many of the Islamists MPs are calling for more support to the Syrian revolution against the devilish plans of Shiite Iranian supported regime !!  I do not like this sectarian language and actually I wonder where these MPs are from what is happening in Bahrain.
Some observers considered the shift in the Egyptian position is due the fact that protests have began to spread in Damascus.
Most if not all the GCC states have pulled its ambassadors from Damascus in the past few months. Tunisia has recalled its ambassador and expelled the Syrian ambassador as well.
Now after couple of hours from the decision of the ministry of foreign affairs ,  Damascus has recalled its ambassador after the Egyptian decision.
Moving to the updates in Syria well people are injured and killed as usual like everyday.
The good news of the day is that Razan Ghazzawi and her colleagues arrested from coupe of days ago in Damascus have been released today but unfortunately they are banned from leaving Syria.

The attorney general of Idlib has been assassinated today in the city , of course SANA has called that the terrorists “we do not know who they are up till this moment” have assassinated him along another judge in the city.
The clashes and protests have reached to Damascus , which means an important escalation in the Syrian revolution. Today there have been reportedly clashes in the Barza district in Damascus between protesters and security forces. There is also reportedly a full scale strike in the Barza district where all shops and companies are closed there.
On the same time the protests rate in Damascus began to catch up with the rests of the Syrian towns , there is distributing unconfirmed news that the security forces in Syria are threatening the villages surrounding Jisr Ash Shugur city in Idlib .
Moving to Homs , well there is the usual shelling of Baba Amr while tweeps from Homs are saying that telecommunications and electricity are still being cut for hours.
Today the security forces cut the water supply but heavens had another plans as it rained there.
Tweep Mulham Jundi says that the city of Homs needs more doctors in the field hospitals as well supplies in everything you can imagine in the city. Jundi says that there is barely any communication in Homs asking for internet Satellite, already I do not know how this can be smuggled to the city if it is besieged.
Jundi also says that 80% of Homs city is liberated , I am trying to get more information from him.

Hala Misrati is alive and kicking ‘’Not that much”

News came from Libya in the past 24 hours that infamous and notorious Libyan TV personality Hala Misrati has been killed in her prison. Well guess what it is a rumor and here is the former Queen of Libyan TV alive and kicking.

Hala Misrati denies the news of her murder on February 19th,2012

Hala is denying in this video that she was killing adding that she was and is being treated well by the revolutionaries like any other Libyan sister.

Misrati won international fame with her crazy attack on the revolutionaries and freedom forces and her support to Qaddafi regime.

To be honest I am relieved that she is still alive because if she were killed  , this would be a bad omen on the progress of the Libyan revolution that is still facing a lot of challenges.

#KhaderExists : Khader Adnan needs your help

Khader's graffiti over that ugly wall "Activestills.org"
Khader Adnan is a Palestinian man from Jenin, he is currently a prisoner with no charges what so ever in Israel according to something called “Administrative detention” . Objecting his arrest for no specific reason Adnan started a hunger strike on December 17th ,2011 that he has not ended till this moment.
Adnan has entered his 65th day in the hunger strike , he is currently hospitalized to the Zif medical center in Safad as his health is deteriorating rapidly. Of course we know as medical fact he can’t go on his hunger strike for more than 70 days.
The administrative detention in Israel allows Israelis to hold Palestinian prisoners without charging them, and potentially indefinitely. There are allegedly 300 Palestinian detainees in the administrative detention system in Israel You read more about it here .
Several human rights organizations from Palestine as well abroad are supporting his cause and are demanding his release. Already according to the fact his health is deteriorating he is no longer considered a real danger to the State of Israel for God sake.
The Israeli high court has scheduled a hearing regarding Adnan’s case next February 23rd ,2012 , I do not know if the man will make it already or not.
Khader's wife Randa with his two beautiful daughters
Khader Adnan is a graduate of economics , he is married to a lady called Randa , he is a father of two girls and another baby in the way. He works as a baker at a Pita Shop in Qabatiya near his home in Jenin. The only thing that makes him a potential danger to Israel the fact that he is a political activist and a member in the non military branch of Islamic Jihad.
Despite his association to Islamic Jihad , Adnan has not been accused of anything up till this moment officially and he has not even stood in front of a judge to know his guilt.
Randa , his pregnant was allowed to see him last week in the hospital and she has described him as a week caveman handcuffed to the bed beaten and mistreated !!
On the 56th day of his hunger strike , Adnan wrote this in a letter to the world
The Israeli occupation has gone to extremes against our people, especially prisoners. I have been humiliated, beaten, and harassed by interrogators for no reason, and thus I swore to God I would fight the policy of administrative detention to which I and hundreds of my fellow prisoners fell prey
Adnan reported that he was mistreated , insulted and even beaten by the IDF soldiers for refusing to eat his meals.
Randa Adnan is asking the help of the Egyptian people and I think we can help her and her husband a lot if we want.
I hope that Khader Adnan gets international attention like Maikel Nabil , of course my hopes are high and can be dreamy but I have still got faith in this world. Khader Adnan should get support from all of us otherwise we will be hypocrite. “We are actually and strangely we are exposed in the first test
Anyhow there are active twitter Hashtags dedicated to Adnan and his cause : #KhaderAdnan and #KhaderExists . Amensty International got this petition for his release , despite I do not believe in Online petitions anymore I think trials are good; at least we show the Israeli government that we do care.

#Syrian Revolution Reaches Egyptian Parliament

Members of the Syrian opposition are attending the session of the Egyptian parliament regarding the Syrian Egyptian relations today. I think they are members of the SNC. These Syrians already had a meeting with the Arab relations committee in the parliament.
The Syrian politicians are overwhelmed with the reception of the parliament. I think I have met one of them at the Syrian tent at Tahrir on last 25 January 2012
That delegation is the first foreign delegation to attend a session of the Egyptian parliament after the revolution. Despite all what You think about this parliament , I think this has a significance meaning , I will remember this scene very well because
The Arab relations committee has reached to the following :

  •   The condemnation to the crimes of El Assad regime.
  • The crimes of El Assad regime have put the opposition in front of dead end.
  • Egypt is demanded now to do its national role to save Syria through sponsoring a dialogue with all the branches of the opposition as well supporting Syrians
  • The Arab relations committee is starting to meet with the Syrian opposition fractions.
  • Egypt should press Russia , China and Iran.
  • Egypt does not want international intervention that leads to another Libya or Iraq.
  • Egypt refuses military intervention in Syria
  • Egypt should support the Arab intervention.
  • Supporting the Syrian citizens in Egypt from giving them residence visa with all other facilities like schools and universities.
The Syrian delegation accused of SCAF of pressing Nabil El Araby not to do anything regarding Syria. Of course when it comes to SCAF level , be sure things are not that simple or easy. Ironically the Egyptian press has been accusing El Araby being Qatar's puppet !!!!!!!!!!!!
Back the people's assembly , well what happened today wasnot that big or huge , it will not stop the on going massacres in Syria yet psychologically it is great as it is sending a message to our people in Syria that Egypt has not and won't forget you :)
